Research at the CDDHV
In line with the mission of the Centre for Developmental Disabilities Health Victoria (CDDHV), the overall objective of the research activities of CDDHV is to contribute to improved outcomes in the health and wellbeing of adults with developmental disability. This objective is achieved by research that provides:
- Increased understanding of the health and wellbeing of adults with developmental disability, and factors that influence or impact that status;
- Evidence of use in the design and evaluation of effective medical and other forms of intervention;
- Evaluation of assessment tools, particularly those that can be used by community-based clinicians, for the identification of health and mental health problems of adults with developmental disability; and
- Evaluation of the research, education and clinical work of CDDHV.
- Investigation into models of primary health care service delivery for adults with developmental disability.
