- National General Practice Representative Group contact; A Scoping Paper 'Consideration of a Medicare Item for Health Assessment of People with Intellectual and Developmental Disability' written by CDDHV staff was presented to the national General Practice Representative Group (GPRG) meeting in March 2005. GPRG comprises representatives from the peak GP organisations - Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Australian Medical Association (AMA), Australian Divisions of General Practice (ADGP) and Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA). GPRG endorsed the development of short-term strategies to improve the delivery of care through the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) for people with intellectual and/or developmental and/or physical disability. This meeting was heralded by a Media Release by RACGP (see below or maybe a link to RACGP web site would be better).

- Ad Hoc Committee for the United Nations Enable; CDDHV had a presence at the forum held in Melbourne by the Working Group established by the Ad Hoc Committee for the United Nations Enable - this group is drafting a declaration of rights for people with disability.
- CDDHV staff have worked closely with consumer groups and representatives including Jim Simpson from the National and NSW branch of the National Council on Intellectual Disability (NCID). Associate Professor Bob Davis and Jim Simpson met with Federal Health Minister Tony Abbott's advisor in Canberra in March, 2005 as well as Julia Gillard - Opposition shadow Minister for Health.
