The CDDHV hosted the Health Issues Special Interest Group Roundtable at the Monash Centre in Prato, Italy on May 21-23, 2007 with the theme of Chronic Disease Management. The conference brought together over 50 doctors from around the world and provided a focus for discussion in this important aspect of disease management in people with intellectual disability. The conference was invaluable in developing networks with European Colleagues and will form the basis for several publications in Chronic Disease Management.

Developing Better Health Outcomes for People with Developmental

Achieving Better Health Outcomes for People with Developmental Disability is the main focus of the CDDHV’s work, and so was the title chosen for the three day international conference on Developmental Disability Medicine hosted by the CDDHV.
The conference was held at the Carlton Crest in Melbourne and was attended by over 240 participants. Registrants came from the UK, USA, Canada and New Zealand as well as from all over Australia and were from a range of health and disability backgrounds. Conference themes of Physical Health, Healthcare Services and Behavior and Psychiatric Health were addressed by the keynote speakers and by a wide range of concurrent sessions.
